Horse Toys

From the strong and diligent farmland heavy horses, to the show jumpers and racers of wealthy equestrians, to loyal steers of cowboys and knights, to mythological horselike creatures such as the unicorn or Pegasus, horses have played a large part in our growth as a civilization. Horse toys call back to an era where these magnificent animals were the most common mode of transport, and the most reliable source of power when it came to heavy manual labor.

Even in an age where a toy such as a rocking horse is less common, though it still carries a classic charm, modern horse toys continue to be produced. The most popular of these horse toys today might well be the My Little Pony figurines. This multimedia franchise, that includes more than one separate television series and feature films, began with a simple horse toy that had a mane and tail that the toy owner could brush.

Many nursery rhyme and childrens song have horses in the lyrics. Some of these rhymes and songs are;
