Fisher Price Toys
Fisher-Price is a toy company, and was founded way back in the 1930’s by Irving Fisher and Irving Price. Both of these founders had previous experience marketing board games and toys. What distinguished Fisher-Price toys from other companies was its dedication to hardiness and quality. Their toys were constructed from the best splinter-resistant ponderosa pine wood, and from heavy steel. Attention to detail and good design showed to be equally important to Fisher-Price products, as the material. As early as the 1950’s, the company was one of the first to recognize plastic as the next great material to use, for its durability and how it sustained bright colors.
Since their wooden pull toy with moving mechanical parts, the Dr. Doodle duck toy, won the New York City based American International Toy Fair, the company had produced such iconic toys as the Little People (figurines and play sets of schools, farms, roads, residences and more,) Power Wheels (ride-on toy trucks, cars, and motorcycles, some even with working radios,) and the View Master (a classic toy and novelty item, like a binocular upgrade of a kaleidoscope in which the user may view a set of photos instead of abstract mirrored images.)
