The popularity of computer graphic imagery games specific to a certain gaming console, such as the Wii or Xbox, remains a formidable and growing market. To consolidate both play and work to a single appliance, however, consumers continuously return to the home computer. A computer might have the games already installed, such as Minesweeper, or chess where the human player can play against the algorithm of a computer.
Other times, computer-compatible games would be sold separately. Still other times, the games would be played from the computer, but through an internet connection, such as World of Warcraft. The games themselves can be basic puzzle games, meant to pass the time enjoyably or exercise the mind. Or the game might be a storytelling medium, complete with engrossing plots, elaborate visuals, a well-composed musical score, and beloved characters. The best computer games would be a combination of the two: memorable storyline, paired with intuitive and challenging gameplay.
