A children’s nursery is where young children sleep. In many homes this primarily means a bedroom with a cradle in it and any other items the baby requires. Some parents also put a daybed or couch in the child’s nursery so that they can be close at hand at night. If a family has more than one very young child, then the family may decide to have both of them share one room so that caregivers can respond quickly to everyone’s needs. The room for the youngest children in a daycare or an entire day care dedicated to this age group may also be referred to as a nursery. A nursery is often decorated in pastels. Decorations may also include snippets of nursery rhymes on the walls, stuffed animals, and family keepsakes.
